ChoreVoyant's 2023 Ultimate Gift Guide
This year's gift guide will tell you a lot about how I have spent 2023. I've been out and about--networking and running errands for clients. Along the way, I have encountered businesses and restaurants that are among my favorite places in Bergen County! Without further ado, I give you this year's 2023 Ultimate Gift Guide.
Part One--All the Things
STuFF with IGGIE--A Curiosity Shoppe
If you're looking for something truly unique, this should be your first stop! There are collectibles, hand-crafted items, vintage items, and more. If someone on your gift list has a passion for Star Wars, you might just find a vintage lunch box featuring R2D2 and CP30! The punker in your life might enjoy an original CBGB poster for a Ramones performance, while your friend who loves vintage fashion may appreciate a beautiful brooch or earrings. My personal favorites are the original designs by Nancy Aronson, and the reasonably-priced antique furniture!
Rock Collage Healing Gallery
Maybe the person you are shopping for is under a lot of stress, or maybe they're striving to take better care of themselves; perhaps they are a spiritual seeker. If anyone on your gift list fits that description--or even if they don't, I highly recommend a trip to Rock Collage Healing Gallery on Cedar Lane in Teaneck. Not only do they have ethically-sourced crystals and crystal jewelry, but sage, essential oils, dream catchers, and experiences--such as yoga classes, sound healing therapy, reiki, and halotherapy. Owner Judith Dazle has a wealth of knowledge, as well as the warmth and caring to guide the uninitiated in this area. You'll leave your visit to Rock Collage with more information and definitely less stress!

Kathy Little Creations
When was the last time you met a metalsmith? If you visit kreated4youbykathy.com, you will find one in Kathleen Little. Kathy works with sterling silver and gemstones to create stunning pendants, rings, bracelets, and more. Her collections that are inspired by nature are among my favorites, especially the pebble collection! Her designs come at a variety of price points, and in styles that will appeal to many tastes. From simple and elegant, to pieces that make a statement, Kathy's got you covered.
Olive-R-Twist
If you looked at last year's gift guide, then you know I love uniquely flavored olive oils and balsamic vinegars. This year, a client tasked me with taking her bottles from Olive-R-Twist to be refilled. That's right; bring your cleaned bottles back, and you can purchase a refill of your favorite oil or vinegar. Needless to say, I fell in love! They offer samples of just about everything in the store, and the way they wrap gift items is absolutely beautiful. Decide based on what you see and sample, ask for assistance, or select a pre-packaged gift set--you can't go wrong.
Rock Ridge Pharmacy
You might ask, "Why on earth would a pharmacy make it into a gift guide?" I would respond by asking in return, "Have you ever been to Rock Ridge Pharmacy?" While, yes, they are a compounding pharmacy and carry a variety of home medical devices--braces, mobility aids, and compression garments--they also have a variety of unique gift options. I found decorative hooks for a dog's leash, personalized with the pet's name; cozy throws, jewelry, decorative items, and more! Located in Glen Rock, the store has a quaint feel and friendly service. Worth checking out! All those great gifts are not online, so you'll need to make the trip to Glen Rock.
The Curious Reader
While you're in Glen Rock, go to The Curious Reader. Specializing in children's books, they have a unique selection for every level of reader. Nonfiction, fiction, poetry, graphic novels, picture books--they're here! Need help in selecting a book for the young reader in your life? Jim Morgan's friendly and thoughtful staff can guide you in the right direction. I have never left The Curious Reader empty-handed. Great stuff!
Creative Den
As you're strolling down Rock Road in Glen Rock, you'll definitely want to stop in Creative Den. Owner Tara McKee has curated gifts for everyone on your list! Browse jewelry, home goods, pet items, specialty condiments, and things to light up your little one's face. With such a large selection of items, it is virtually one-stop shopping! Looking for teacher gifts? Creative Den is the ideal place for that extra-special present for those folks who've gone above and beyond.
Part Two--Coffee and...
I love coffee, and I definitely love to eat. The following places offer both great coffee and delicious bites!
Alt Eats Cafe
Alt Eats Cafe in Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ offers vegan, gluten-free, organic fare along with a variety of coffees, teas, and smoothies. Have you ever had coffee with olive oil? Alt Eats has it, and it's divine! Just enough to add Mediterranean flavor, for a new experience. With so many yummy options, you'll keep coming back! Try one of the varieties of Mac-n-"Cheese." Perfection!
Willow and Whisk
If you've got a hankering for brunch, Willow and Whisk in Wyckoff, NJ is the place to go. They offer a selection of sweet and savory options, along with a large coffee, tea, and juice menu. You will have only one dilemma when you make your second visit--do you order what you loved the last time, or try something new?! My personal favorites are the Cacio e Pepe Scramble, the Avocado Toast, and the Lemon-Blueberry Poppers (these may be seasonal). Gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan options are available. This is a popular spot, especially on the weekends. You'll want to visit on a weekday, if you can, or make reservations for Saturday or Sunday.
Honey Day Cafe
How about coffees, teas, juices, and brunch with a Korean flare? That's what you'll get at Honey Day Cafe! The K-Chicken and Waffles is an original take on the classic chicken and waffles. Mochi waffles, with sweet-heat glazed chicken and maple syrup are hearty and scrumptious. The Ricotta & Jam Toast is a perfect small plate, and although I haven't tried them, the Kimchi Fries look amazing! Many of my friends have raved about the breakfast tots. The drink menu alone will keep you coming back, because you'll want to try all of the specialty lattes and juices.
There you have it, this year's Ultimate Gift Guide! I hope that you will visit these shops and restaurants, treating your friends and relatives to some of the best things you'll find here in Bergen County. Happy shopping!
